Doug focuses his practice on commercial litigation, products liability, insurance defense and coverage litigation, motor vehicle litigation, and college and university law. Doug has significant experience representing corporations and businesses of various sizes, including domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors of products. As part of his practice, Doug also regularly represents a local post-graduate institution in areas ranging from student discipline to compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Doug has handled a myriad of complex litigation matters involving claims of wrongful death, personal injury, discrimination, copyright infringement, negligent hiring and retention, and premises liability. In defending cases, Doug believes in using thorough initial investigation to position clients for early dismissal of claims and for preparing a compelling story at trial.

Doug regularly represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Kentucky. He also has significant appellate experience in matters before the Kentucky Supreme Court and the Kentucky Court of Appeals, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Beyond his extensive practice before the courts, Doug has also represented clients in numerous mediation and arbitration proceedings.

Doug oversees the recently launched Sports Group, through which it plans to service athletes, coaches, events and other sports-related entities. While the initial focus of the Sports Group will be on track and field and distance running, the Group plans to expand its practice into all of the major American sports as soon as its footprint is established in the track and field/distance running market. The firm's Sports Group is committed to providing full-service representation to its clients including, but not limited to: endorsement/contract negotiations; public relations and media support; and full professional/career development services. As a former competitive distance runner, Doug is familiar with the environment of today's developing athlete and is committed to providing his clients with the support and resources required to succeed.
